Service  Lieutenant Cologan served with Colonel Maxwells Column, in the Cawnpore District, 57/58. Present at the advance on Lucknow, March 58. Served in the Ackbarpore District with Colonel Maxwells Column, in 58. Present with a Detachment of Her Majestys 88th sent across the Jumna to join Sir Hugh Roses Force at the actions before and taking of Calpee, in May 58. Served with the 7th Punjab Infantry as part of Brigadier Berkeleys Saraon Field Force, 58. Present with the above Force at the taking of Forts Dehaigon, Tiroul, and Bhyspore, and left in Command of Detachments of 7th Punjab Infantry, occupying after the capture successively the Forts Dehaigon and Bhyspore. Commanded a Company of the 7th Punjab Infantry sent to skirmish and clear the village of Dehaigon. Served in the Azimpore District with the 7th Punjab Infantry, in 58. Served in Trans-Gogra and Trans-Kaptee with the 7th Punjab Infantry, in 58, 59. Medal and 2 Clasps, (Passed examination in Field Engineering.)
