Service  Major Lloyd served with the Field Force in Bundlecund, in 42, 43 : present at the action of Bhugora, 7th December 42; served through the Gwalior Campaign in 43, 44 ; present at the battle of Maharajpore. Bronze Star. Served under Major-General Sir John Grey, at Attaruwallah, 1st January 46; and through the remainder of the Sutlej Campaign served in the expedition under Brigadier Wheeler, against Kot Kangra, in June 46; present at the surrender of that Fortress. Present as Superintendent of Neemuch when the Native Brigade at that station mutinied, 3rd June 57. Regained possession on 6th June with a few Native Horsemen and Police, and succeeded in holding it till reinforced by some Kotah and Boondee Troops, and restored the British authority in the Neemuch District. Present at the action at Jeerum against the rebels, 23rd October 57. Present when the Garrison at Neemuch was besieged by the rebels from the 8th to the 22nd November 57; present throughout the siege and conducted the duties of Commandant during that time. Received the thanks of the Commander-in-Chief of the Bombay Army, 19th December 57, and also of Brigadier General Lawrence, 2nd December 57. Brevet-Majority and Medal. Mentioned in the Governor-Generals Despatch to the Secretary of State, and received a letter, dated the 11th June 60, from the Secretary of State, conveying the gracious approbation of Her Majesty the Queen, of his conduct during the rebellion.
