CommentThe list comprises 135 officers and soldiers of the Royal Regiment of Artillery who sailed for India to fight with Admiral Boscawen at the Siege and Capture of Ariancopang and the Siege of Pondicherry in August to October 1748.

At the cessation of hostilities, many Artillerymen transferred to the new Madras Army of the East India Company. Others returned to England.

It is noteworthy that a number of men who embarked from England with the rank of Matross, are later found to have been commissioned as officers in the Company Army!
