|
Lillian Daphne Emerson, was the daughter of Henry Horace Andrews Emerson of the British Army who was in India between the world wars. On completion of her education she travelled out to India in 1928 and remained there, as far as is known, until at least 1932 when she married Alston Cranstoun Todd of the Royal Artillery. She wrote in a journal of her time on the boat out and kept a diary for most of 1930, including a number of family and individual photographs of polo matches, golf, skating etc including some group photographs which are indexed with names. There are also such things as show and gymkhana programmes and a couple of programmes for the Inauguration of New Delhi in 1931.
