Inscription: Sacred to the Memory of: EDWARD PAUL EVANS, Pensioned Conductor, Madras Ordnance Department. Born 24th February 1811 - Died 20th August 1872 For more than a quarter of a century, Clerk to the Retiring Fund of the Officers of the Madras Artillery, by whom this tomb is erected as a token of respect and esteem for a faithful servant and deserving soldier. R.I.P.
