Description  Messrs. Alexander and Company purchased Singia, Bhyropore and Anarpore Factories from James Gibbon, John Abbott acting in trust for the Company, 1824. Harold Fitzgerald of Singia and his wife, Eliza, conveyed Chayton Pursa to John Abbott, in trust for Messrs. Alexander and Company, 23-24 February 1829, and all right and title in Singia, 1835-36. Fitzgerald made over Bhyropore and Anarpore to the assignee for the insolvent estate of Messrs. Alexander and Company. The assignee sold Singia, Bhyropore, Anarpore and Chayton Pursa to George Folly Hodgkinson for Rs. 50,000 sicca, 1836-37.    
Indexer  (1) Rs. is an abbreviation of Rupees. (2) Sicca was an adjective applied to the silver currency, i.e. sicca rupees, under the Mogul emperors; was the general standard of value until superseded by the Hon. East India Company’s rupee.
