Description  Brother of Chowdry Mohunt Raja Ram Dass. Proprietor of Jaintpore Factory after his brother's death; H.E. Abbott continued as manager. The estate ran into debt, and it became difficult to get funds to operate—Dass tried new managers, eventually settling on M.J. Wilson [the author], with W. Vipan as assistant. Messrs. Begg Dunlop and Company floated a debenture, to pay the Mohunt’s private debts.    
Indexer  (1) A Chowdry, or Chaudhri, was the headman of a village or of a profession or trade in the village, or a holder of landed property on the par of a zamindár and tálukdár. (2) A Mohunt was a Hindu or Sikh priest. (3) A Raja, or Rájá, was a king or a prince, or a title for private persons of high rank.
