CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1815: Writer. 1818: Third Assistant o the Collector and Magistrate of Malabar. 1819: Register of the Zillah of Malabar. 1824: Acting Register of the Zillah of Canara. 1825: Head Assistant to the Collector and Magistrate of Canara. 1826: Acting Additional Sub-Collector of Canara. 1828: Additional Sub-Collector of Canara. 1830: At home on absentee allowance. 1834: Returned to India; Collector and Magistrate of Guntoor. 1835: Collector and Magistrate of Rajahmundry, and Acting Second Judge of Provincial Court, Northern Division. 1836: Princial Collector and Magistrate of Canara. 1838: Acting Second Judge of the Provincial Court, Centre Division. 1839: Principal Collector and Magistrate of Bellary. 1840: Second Judge of the Provincial Court of Appeal and Circuit, Centre Division. 1842: Third Judge of the Sudder Dewannee and Sudder Foujdarry Adawlut. 1845: Judge of the Sudder Dewannee and Sudder Foujdarry Adawlut. 1846: Second Judge of the Sudder Dewannee and Sudder Foujdarry Adawlut, and appointed Provincial Member of Council of the Governor; Resigned the service, 10th December. (Annuitant on the Fund, 1848.) Died, 5th March 1869, in England.
