CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1848: Writer. 1850: Assistant to the Principal Collector and Magistrate, Coimbatore. 1853: Acting Head Assistant at Coimbatore. 1855: Inspector of Schools. 1857: Acting Sub-Judge, Managalore; Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Salem. 1859: Sub-Judge, Mangalore; Proceeded on furlough to Europe for 3 years and 37 days. 1863: Acting Civil and Sessions Judge, Tellicherry; and at Mangalore; Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Malabar. 1864: Acting Judge of Small Cause Court, Tellicherry. 1865: Civil and Sessions Judge, Cuddapah, but acting as such at Chingleput. 1866: Acting, afterwards, Civil and Sessions Judge, Vizagapatam. 1869: District and Sessions Judge, Ganjam. 1875: On furlough to Europe for 2 years. 1877: Retired from service, 30th September. (Annuitant on the Fund.)
