He was discovered on the bed quite dead, having committed suicide by cutting his throat. The captain of a vessel in which he came to England said that he had known him in Madras. He had been in the army, but was dismissed by a general court-martial, on account of a quarrel with a brother officer, which affected his mind. An inquest was held, and a verdict of ""temporary insanity"" returned. |
