Detail  Officers slain in India. Brevet Captain Walter Hore, officiating Deputy Secretary to Government. He was the third son of Walter Hore, esq. of Harperstown, co. Wexford, by the Hon. Mary Elizabeth Thornton Ruthven, sister and presumptive heiress to Lord Ruthven. ""Captain Hore, Assistant Military Secretary, and a valuable officer, acting as my aide-de-camp, was killed about the same time as Major Somerset received his wound."" (Sir H. Hardinge's report)
