Detail  [At Anton's Hill, Berwickshire, in his 90th year. Son of Cuthbert Hunter, esq. of Medomsley, Durham by the dau. of the Rev. John Nixon of Haltwhistle. Entered the army in 1771. After the American war of independence was in the East Indies and commanded the 52nd at the siege of Cannanore, also at Seringapatam and Bangalore]
