He was of St Mary Magdalene coll. Camb. Hon. M.A. 1844. In July 1843 he entered the army as Cornet in the 9th Lancers, and was engaged in the war of the Punjaub; in May 1846 he succeeded to a Lieutenancy, and exchanged to the 10th Hussars. He was one of the aides-de-camp of Lord Gough. His body was buried at Suez. |
