Though naturally cheerful, her spirits never recovered the sustained by the death of her distinguished partner, whom she has not survived four months. Mrs Jeffrey was born in America, and was the grandniece of the celebrated John Wilkes, and second wife of the late Lord Jeffrey, to whom she was married in 1813. |
