He was nearly twenty years in India, was in the campaigns against Tippoo and Doondiah Waugh, and in that of Wynaad, where he was severely wounded. He served also at Cochin, Colombo, Saddasseer, Seringapatam, Jamalabad, Pangalamcourchy, and Annakenny. Subsequently he was twelve years in the West Indies and four in the Peninsula, and had the war medal with one clasp for Badajoz. |
