Detail  [At his seat, Huntley Hall, near Cheadle, aged 80. 4th son of the late John Sneyd, esq. of Bishton, and afterwards of Belmont in Staffordshire, by Penelope, eldest dau. of Thomas Kynnersley, esq. of Loxley Park. Born at Bishton in Feb. 1773. Entered the navy in 1786. Lieut. 1793. ""In the spring of 1794 he was appointed to the Culloden 74, fitting for the flag of Sir Edward Pellew, who on their arrival in the East Indies appointed him governor of the Hospital in Madras, with the rank of acting Commander.""]
