Full Entry  Sacred to the memory of Frederic Walpole Mason, Esq., Major in the 18th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry. Born 21st May 1806. Died 12 November 1848. The merits of this distinguished officer can not be so well appreciated as in this recorded fact that his brother officers have kindly enabled his afflicted widow to erect this tablet in mournful testimony of their sense of his conduct , character and public services on many and diverse occasions.
