| | Surname | Vaugulin | | | Forename(s) | John | | | Year of Death | 1824 | | | Inscription | Sacred to the Memory of John Vaugulin, late Livery stable keeper of Sooterkin Lane, who after a lingering and painful illness of nine months, which he bore with exemplary pateince, departed this life on the 13th December 1824, resting his hopes of a joyful resurrection on the merits and mediation of his Redeemer, aged 49 years. He was an affectionate husband, a loving father and a sincere friend. In his public capacity he has done his duty and given every satisfaction upon all occasions. - Poem - Language cannot adequately express the grief of the afflicted widow, who erected this monument as a small token of the deep and lasting regret of herself and numerous family. |
