Inscription  Sacred to the Memory of the late Mr. James Wade, A native of Waterford, Ireland, and many years Senior Branch Pilot on this establishment, who departed this life on the 22nd day of April 1819, aged 75 years. Intelligent in his profession, and intrepid in mind, he by his personal exertions saved the lives of many, and in society he was highly esteemed for his honest heart and liberal hand, which were always open to his friends and the poor. May he rest in peace.
