Inscription  Sacred to the memory of Captain Edward Coxen for 31 years Paymaster the 1st Battalion 60th Royal Rifles who died atMeerut on the 14th of February 1857 aged 77 years. He served at Flushing, thoughout the Peninsular War, at Waterloo and in the Punjab Campaign 1848 9, and received three medals and twelve clasps. Erected by the officers of the 1st Battn 60th Royal Rifles.
