Inscription  Sacred to the memory of Sir William Ogle Carr, Knight, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Island, younger son of T W Carr, Esq., of Eshott, Northumberland. He was born in England, November 13, 1802, arrived in Ceylon August, 1833, died April 24, 1856.
