Inscription  Sacred to the Memory of Gunner M.H. Scott, 12th Battery, 7th Brigade, Royal Artillery, who was lost in the jungle, Fort Ostenburgh, August 1st, 1877. His remains were found December 30th, 1878. Aged 21 years 8 months. This stone is erected by his comrades.
