Inscription  This memorial is erected by his sorrowing parents to the memory of John Spottiswoode Robertson, Esq., of Hillside, Dolosbage, born in Edinburgh, 13 October,1823. Killed by an elephant ...... Eldest son of William Robertson, Esq., late one of the Deputy Keepers of the Records of Scotland.
