Entry  GRANT – Death of Sir Robert Grant – (Bombay Government Gazette Extraordinary Wednesday, July 11th, 1838). General Department, Bombay Castle, July 11th, 1838. General orders by the Honourable the Governor in Council. With unfeigned grief the Government is called on to announce that it has pleased Almighty God to call to himself the Right Honourable Sir Robert Grant, G.C.H., the governor of this presidency. The melancholy event occurred at Dapoorie, near Poonah, about five o'clock P.M., on the 9th instant. [long obituary].
