He held a seat in the Medical Board for upwards of seven years, which he filled with credit to himself and with the general approbation of those whom his public duties affective; long after having acquired a handsome fortune he deferred from year to year his return to Europe, till at length he sunk under the effects of a continued residence of 36 years in this climate. His death took place the 29th September 1814, in the 56th year of hia age. |
