After two years of painful illness through injuries received on active service in the Great War born in the parish of West Ham near the town on London in the County of Essex, age 40 years 7 months 4 days. Cold is the grave where my pride is laid, sweet are the memories that never will fade. He'll not be forgiven though parted we are, the grave that contains him is sacred to me. -- Erected by his sorrowful wife. |
