The deceased as Commander of a large portion of Army held a high position in the Gwalior state & rendered important services to it. He was renowned for his bravery , as well as for his munificence to the Church & his benevolence & charity to his fellow Christians. His four surviving grandsons in filial respect & regard to his memory have placed this marble. What glitt'ring & high tried Once dignified Thee here. Were characters impress'd on dust which quickly disappear. Requiescat in pace. (Hindoo writing) |
