Inscription  Sacred to the memory of James Wilkinson Breeks, Commissioner of the Nilgherries, who died at Ootacamund on the 6th of June 1872, aged forty-two years. This stone is placed upon his grave by his friends in the Madras Civil Service, who loved and honoured him living, and who deeply lament his early death. ""The memory of the just is blessed.
