CommentTranscriptions taken from Graves at Serampore Johnnagore Bapt CNI Church (John the Baptist) and Old Cemetery, Serampore (Bengal Presidency).

These photographs were taken by members and friends of FIBIS who went on a Family History Tour of East India in 2015. Our thanks to Brenda Boggild and Greta Lawrence who took the photographs and have permitted FIBIS to share them.

Inscription  Hannah Marshman widow of Joshua Marshman DD last surviving member of the Mission family of Serampore she arrived in the settlement in October 2799 and opened a seminary to aid in the support of the mission in May 1800 after having consecrated her life and property to the promotion of the sacred cause and exhibited an example of humble piety and energetic benevolence for forty-seven years she was removed to eternal rest at the age of eighty March 5th 1847
