Service  Assistant-Surgeon J. Fairweather was present with the 4th Punjab Infantry in the expedition against the Bozdars on the Dehra Ghazee Khan Frontier, in 57. With the same Regiment in an expedition into Eusuffzaie, in July 57, and accompanied it to Delhi. Present at the siege and capture with Brigadier Greatheds Column, at the actions of Boolnndshuhur, Allyghur, and Agra, 10th October 57. At Marugunge, under Sir Hope Grant; relief of Lucknow, under Lord Clyde; defeat of Gwalior Troops at Cawnpore, and pursuit and capture of their guns at Seraighat. Passage of Kallah Nuddee, and occupation of Futtehghur; action of Shumshabad under Brigadier Adrian Hope, (injured by an explosion of the enemys tumbril,) and siege and capture of Lucknow. With General Walpoles Force at the attack on the Fort at Rooyah, and engagement of Allygunge. With the Commander-in-Chief s Force at the action of the 5th May 58, and capture of Bareilly. Medal and 3 Clasps.
