Served as Principal Commissariat Officer with the troops employed in the subjugation of Oude, 58, 59. Present at the engagement with Bein Madhuls force, and the affairs of Bingidia, Majidda, and Raptee. Received the thanks of Lord Clyde, 21st January 59. Promoted to the rank of Brevet-Major for services during the Mutiny, 14th August 59. Joined the Expeditionary Force to China in March 60. Served in the Sikhim Expedition in 60, 61, and honorably mentioned in G. 0. G. G., 12th September 61.
