Service  Lieutenant Gellie was present with the late 9th Native Infantry, when that Regiment mutinied at Allyghur on the 20th May 57. Served with the 1st Gwalior Cavalry (Scindias Contingent), in May and June 57 ; in some minor affairs with rebel villagers, &c., in the Allygurh District. Present when half of this Regiment mutinied at Hattras, on 24th May 57. Served in the Gun Escort in the action near Agra, under Brigadier Polwhele, 5th July 57. Served with the Rifle Company, Agra Militia, in the battle of Agra, under Colonels Cotton and Greathed, and pursuit of the mutineers, 10th October 57. Served with the 3rd Europeans in February 58, against the rebels in the ravines of the Jumna. Served with the "Allygurh Levy" with Colonel Oakes Column (No. 4), Bundlecnnd Field Force, under Brigadier F. Wheeler, in October, November, and December 59. Medal.
