Service  Ensign P. Gibson served with the first European Bengal Fusiliers in Burmah, in 52, 53, and 54; accompanied the Martaban Column under the Command of Major-General Sir S. W. Steel, throughout the operations en-route to Shwegyeen. Medal. Also present throughout the Indian Mutinies of 57, 58. Present at the action near Agra, against the insurgent Neemuch and Nusseerabad Brigade, 5th July 57, and in the action with the rebels at Oriya; served the whole of the hot weather Campaign of 58, against the mutineers in the affairs of Etawah, Mynpooree, and Shereghur Ghaut; was with the Moveable Column under Command of Colonel Riddel, which marched towards Gwalior to co-operate with the Central India Field Force under His Excellency General Sir Hugh Rose, in June 58. Medal.
