Service  Captain Grant was present at the breaking out of the Mutiny at Delhi, on the 11th May 57. Served with the 75th Foot at the battle of Badlee-ke-Serai, 8th June 57, and subsequently with the 4th Sikh Infantry and Kumaon Battalion throughout the siege and capture of Delhi. Served with the Kumaon Battalion when forming part of Brigadier Showers Column at Rewarree, Jhujjur, &c., in October 57; and with the same Corps at Silka Ghaut, in Nepal, and at the affair at Korreealee River, under Brigadier Horsford. Vide G. G. 0., No. 347 and 823, of 59. Medal and Clasp.
