Service  Major E. Hall served in the Marwar Field Force against Joopore. Served in the Roy Bareilly District in the first occupation of Oude, in 56. Served in Command of Detachments of 31st Native Light Infantry, 3rd Irregular Cavalry, and Police, against the rebels in the Rehlee Pergunnah of Saugor, from 14th April to 9th May58. Engaged with the rebels at Rungorea, 20th April 58. Commanded the Allyghur Levy, and No. 4 Column, Bundlecund Field Force, from 7th October to 7th December 59. Engaged with the mutineers on 8th November 59. Received the thanks of the Governor-General, 9th December 59. Commanded No. 2 Flying Column in Kishenghur District, Bundlecund, from 7th December 59 to 31st March 60, and cleared it of mutineers. These operations were noticed as most satisfactory and highly creditable in a letter from the Government of India, 29th. May 60. Medal.
