Service  Lieutenant Hall served in the Burmese War from 2nd January 53 till its close. Medal and Clasp. Present at Allahabad in June, July, and August 57, and joined General Havelocks Force at Cawnpore in September. Appointed Assistant Field Engineer to that Force, and present at the actions of Mungulwar, 21st; Alum Bagh, 23rd; and 1st relief of the Lucknow Garrison, 25th September 57. Present as Assistant Field Engineer, and in charge of the Alum Bagh outpost with the Force under Sir J. Outram, till 9th January 59. Present throughout the Trans-Goomptee operations under Sir J. Outram, and siege and capture of Lucknow, March 58. Also in the subsequent operations in Oude, including the affair at Baree and minor affairs near Durriabad. Mentioned in Despatch of Major Crommelin, and thanked in General Orders. Medal and 2 Clasps.
