Received the thanks of the Governor-General and other Commandants. Served on the Trans-Indus Frontier between Kohat and Scinde, from July 52 till May 57. Served throughout the Mutinies, 57, 58. Present at the disarming of the Native Infantry Regiments at Mooltan, June 57. Commanded a Detachment of all Arms at the reduction of the Town of Balleh, Kumoul District, 14th and 15th July 57. Horse received spear, sword, and bullet wounds. Served against the rebels in the Saharunpore, Mozuffurnuggur, and Meerut Districts, 57, 58 ; and with Colonel Smyths Column on the re-occupation of Rohilcund. Promoted to rank of Brevet-Major for Field Services, 17th May 58. Served throughout the Oude Campaign, 58. Mentioned in Brigadier Wetheralls Despatch to the Commander-in-Chief, 58. Served under Sir Hope Grant at the passage of the Gogra and pursuit from Fyzabad, and at Muchlee Gaon. With Brigadier Rowcrofts Column in the Goruckpore District. With the Force under Lord Clyde at Chindah Mujeetra, pursuit from Bankee, and driving of the rebels across the Raptee. Medal. Promoted to rank of Brevet-Lieutenant-Colonel for Field Services, 59. Served in Trans-Gogra, on the Nepal Frontier, in 59. Present at the taking of the Nanas guns at Silka Ghaut, 9th February 59. Mentioned in Brigadier Horsfords Despatch, 59. Present at the attack on the rebels on the Khoriallee River, 26th April 59. Brought to the notice of the Commander-in-Chief by Brigadier Horsfords Despatch, 59.
