Service  Major Innes, V.C., served during the whole period of the defence of the Residency of Lucknow. Garrison Engineer of the Mutchi-Bhawun prior to the evacuation. Present at Cawnpore during the action of the 6th December. Served as Field Engineer with Brigadier-General Franks Column, and present with it at the actions of Nusrutpore, Chanda, Ameerpore, Sultanpore, and Dhowrara. (Severely wounded.) Present at Lucknow during the siege operations of March 58. Medal, 2 Clasps, and V. C., and one years extra service.
