Service  Major Moxon served during the Punjab Campaign, 48, 49. Present throughout the operations before Mooltan, including the 1st and 2nd sieges, and capture of the Town, surrender of the Fortress, repulse of the enemies, and night attack on the Camp at Mutte Tal, 17th August; storming of the Dhurmsala, 12th September; action of Sooroojkhoond, 7th November; attack on the suburbs, 27th December 48 ; and battle of Goojerat. Brought to the notice of His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief, 13th February 49. Medal and 2 Clasps, Served during the Mutinies, 58. Commanded a Detachment of Military Police, and proceeded to the relief of the Deputy Commissioner of Mendlah, who was surrounded by rebels at Shaikpoorah. In December 58 commanded a Force of Irregular Infantry and Cavalry and Military Police, and on the 10th December routed a large body of mutineers and Bondelas under the rebel leader Runmut Singh, killing five of his Sirdars, and capturing the whole of his camp, equipage, and baggage. From December 58 to January 59 was engaged in the pursuit of rebels under Himmult Singh, and on three occasions caught up the enemy and defeated them. Medal.
