Service  Lieutenant Murray served as Assistant Field Engineer with the Field Force before Delhi, from 14th August 57 to the capture of the city, 20th September 57. (Wounded slightly, 15th September 57.) Medal and Clasp. Served as Officiating Major of Brigade, Delhi Engineer Field Force, 57, 58. Present at the actions of Gungeeree, 14th, Puttiallee, 17th, and Mynpooree, 27th December 57, with the Force under Colonel T. Seaton. Served as Assistant Field Engineer with the Army under Lord Clyde, at the capture of Lucknow, March 58. Clasp. Served as Assistant Field Engineer with the Force under Brigadier-General Walpole, in Oude and Rohilcund, April 58. Present at the attack on Fort Rooya, 15th April 58; and action at Allygunge, April 58. Served as Assistant Field Engineer at the defence of the Jail at Shahjehanpore, under Colonel Hall, and present with the Rohilcund Field Force at two actions at Shahjehanpore, under Brigadier-General J. Jones.
