Service  Lieutenant Ouseley served during the Punjab Campaign, 43, 49. Present at the affair of Ramnuggur, and actions of Sadoolapore, Chillianwallah, and Goojerat, Medal and 2 Clasps. Served during the Mutinies, 57, 58. Present at the Mutiny at Lucknow, 30th May 57; at the action of Chinhut, 30th June; at the defence and evacuation of the Muchee Bhawun, 2nd July 57; and throughout the defence of Lucknow. Present during the operations at Cawnpore against the Gwalior Contingent; at the battle of Cawnpore, 6th December57; at the operations at Tuttya, and west of the Grand Trunk Road; at the occupation of Futtehpore ; at the siege and capture of Lucknow, March 58. Medal and 2 Clasps, and one years extra service. Mentioned in the Despatch of Major Apthorp, 20th October 57. Performed the duties of an Artillery Officer, and had charge of 1 eighteen-pounder and 2 nine-pounders at Gubbins out-post, during the siege of Lucknow, from July to November 57, and commanded the Native Artillery men there posted. Brought to notice of the Commander-in-Chief in the Despatch of Brigadier Inglis, 12th November 57.
