Service  Captain Palliser served in an expedition against the Shewanee Tribes, on the Dera Jat Frontier, in March 53. Served during the Mutinies, 57,58. Present at the action of Futtehpore, 12th June 57, and re-occupation of Cawnpore; at the actions of Munglewar, 21st; Alum Bagh, 23rd; and relief of Lucknow, 25th September 57; occupation of Alum Bagh by Sir James Outram; action of Gabelee, 22nd December 57; repulse of rebel attack on the Fort of Jellallabad, 25th February 58; capture of Lucknow, March 58; re-occupation of Fyzabad and Sultanpore, in Oude, by Sir Hope Grant; action of Daoodpore, 22nd October; and repulse and pursuit of the rebels at the Khundoo Nuddee, 26th October 58. Severely wounded in the action against the Shewanees, in the Drabund Pass, 14th March 53. (Wounded on 2nd July 57 and 25th September 57; dangerously wounded, 26th October 58.) Medal and 2 Clasps. Mentioned in the Despatch of Sir H. Havelock, 12th July 57. Mentioned in Despatch of Brigadier Horsford, 22nd October 58. (In receipt of a pension of £70 a year for wound received at Daoodpore, 26th October 58.)
