Service  Colonel Pott served against the insurgents near Cuttack, in 33, with the 47th Native Infantry. Served throughout the Sutlej Campaign, including the actions of Moodkee, Ferozeshuhur, Buddiwal, Alliwal, and Sobraon. Commanded the 47th Native Infantry as a Captain at Moodkee and Ferozeshuhur. (Horse shot under Him at Sobraon.) Medal and 3 Clasps, and Brevet-Major. Commanded a Force in the Irrawaddy District, in Pegu, against the rebels in 54. Commanded various parties of troops against the rebels near Mirzapore, during the Mutiny of 57. Medal. Commanded the 47th Native Infantry on Foreign Service at Canton, in 58, 59. Medal. (Received the special thanks of Lord Canning for services performed during the Mutiny.)
