Service  Lieutenant Pullan served throughout the siege of Delhi in 57, with the 4th Sikh Infantry, (Severely wounded.) Medal and Clasp.Was present with Colonel Maxwells Column near Calpee, during March 58, as Adjutant of the 2nd Sikh Police Battalion. Commanded 4 Companies of this Battalion from May to November 58, throughout the Campaign in the Goruckpore Terai, under Brigadier Rowcroft. Mentioned in his Despatches for the defence of Bansee, in September 58. Mentioned three times in Despatches during the Rohilcund Campaign of 48.
