Service  Captain Ryall served throughout the Sonthal Campaign, in 55, 56. Received the thanks of Government for services performed. After escaping from three mutineers, joined the 2nd Hyderabad Cavalry, and with it was present at the forcing of the Khonie Pass, battles of Nigree, Khobrie, and Bandah (wounded), and all subsequent operations, in which the Central lndia Force, under Major-General Whitlock, was engaged, up to June 58. Commanded the 3rd Sikh Irregular Cavalry during the Shahabad Campaign, from August 58 up to the final capture of Jugdespore, on which occasion was nominated to the Command of all the Southern Detachments of Cavalry, under Brigadier Douglas. Frequently and favorably mentioned in Despatches by Officers Commanding Divisions, Brigades, and Columns. Medal and Clasp.
