Service  Colonel Stannus served in the Campaign of 42, in Affghanistan, at the forcing of the Khyber Pass, and the battle of Mamoo Khail. Medal. Commanded a Detachment of the Regiment on escort with His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief, at the battle of Maharajpore. Bronze Star. Throughout the Campaign on the Sutlej. Present at the actions of Moodkee, Ferozeshuhur, Alliwal, and Sobraon. Medal and 3 Clasps. Served with the Army of the Punjab, at the action of Ramnuggur, and commanded the 3rd Troop of the Regiment on escort with the Commander-in-Chief, at the battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat. (Severely wounded.) Medal.
