Service  Captain Swiney served during the Sutlej Campaign, 46. During the Sonthal Rebellion, 55, 56. During the Mutiny 57, 58, 59. Present at the mutiny of the 7th Native Infantry at Dinapore, 25th July 57. Served with the Force under Lord M. Kerr. Present at the relief of Azimghur, in the engagement with the rebels under Koer Sing, 6th April 58, and other skirmishes. Employed as Commissariat Officer with the Azimghur Garrison, until its relief by Sir E. Lugard April 58. Medal Served with the Force under Brigadier McDuff and present at the action of Suhao, in Bundlecund, 4th September 58. Engaged with a body of rebels at Burrah, in the Jaloun District, November 58. Received the thanks of the Deputy Commissioner. Commanded the Jaloun Military Police in an engagement with the mutineers at Rohain, 14th May 59. Received the thanks of the Lieutenant Governor, North-Western Provinces, 1st June 59. Employed in various occasions with the rebels, from July 58 to March 60.
