Service  Major Trench served with the Force under General Pollock: present at the forcing of the Khyber Pass, and in the different engagements leading to the re-occupation of Cabul, Medal; and also throughout the Hindustan Campaign of 57, 58, including the battle of Nudjufghur (horse killed under him), the several engagements under the walls, and final assault of Delhi, as Orderly Officer to Brigadier-General Nicholson. Immediately on the fall of Delhi, accompanied the Force under General Showers as Brigade-Major throughout the operations in the Goorgaon District. Served as Brigade-Major with the Column under Sir T. Seaton. Present at the actions of Gungeeree, Puttiallee, and Mynpooree. Medal and 2 Clasps.
