Service  Major Warner formed one of the Garrison of Lucknow from the 30th of June till the 22nd November 57. Was brought to the favorable notice of the Governor-General in Council in the Despatch of Sir J. Inglis, dated 25th September 57; and thanked by the Governor-General in Council in General Order No. 1543, dated 8th December 57. Was present with the Force under His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief which drove the Gwalior rebels from Cawnpore, at the action of Khodagunge, and re-occupation of Futtehghur. Served as Aide-de-Camp to Brigadier-General Walpole, during the siege and capture of Lucknow, in March 58, and at the action and re-occupation of Bareilly, in May 58. Mentioned in Despatches on both occasions. Medal and 2 Clasps, Brevet-Majority, and one years extra service.
