Service  Lieutenant Waterfield served with HMs 82nd in the N. W. Provinces, in suppressing the Mutiny, in 57, 58, including the operations at and defence of Cawnpore under General Windham; the defeat of the rebels on the 6th December 57, under Lord Clyde. Was present at the action of Kalee Nuddee, also that of Khankur, under Sir T. Seaton, 7th April 58. Was engaged at the defence of the Jail at Shahjehanpore, under Colonel Hale, and operations subsequent to the relief under Sir J. Jones. Capture of the Forts of Buneral, Mahowdie, and Shahabad. Present at the action of Bun-ka-gaon under Sir T. Seaton. Served also with the 66th Goorkha Light Infantry in the Oude Campaign of 58, 59. Present at the action of Pusgaon, 19th October; battle of Russoolpore, 25th October; attack and capture of the Fort of Mittowlee, 8th November; and action of Biswah, 1st December 58. Medal and Clasp.
